Most frequent questions and answers
Don’t compare quotations only by their final price. Compare the scope of work, materials, brands, quantities, specifications, inclusions, exclusions, GST, timeline, warranty, and payment schedule. A lower quotation may not actually be cheaper if important items are excluded.
Check the company’s completed projects, reviews, experience with homes similar to yours, quality of materials, workmanship, project management, quotation transparency, timeline, warranty, and aftersales service. It is also useful to visit a completed project rather than judging a company only from 3D designs.
A detailed quotation should clearly mention the work included, quantities, dimensions where applicable, material specifications, brands or grades, hardware, finishes, installation, taxes, exclusions, project timeline, payment milestones, and warranty terms. This makes it easier to compare different interior companies fairly.
Different quotations can vary because the companies may be using different materials, hardware, finishes, designs, quantities, workmanship standards, or scopes of work. One company may also include items that another has listed as an extra. Before choosing the cheaper quote, check whether both quotations cover the same requirements.
Ask for a detailed BOQ or itemised quotation and make sure all inclusions and exclusions are clearly documented. Confirm whether GST, electrical work, civil work, lighting, painting, transportation, installation, hardware, and other possible extras are included. Any changes after design approval should also be documented before additional work is carried out.
Not necessarily. The cheapest quotation may have lower-grade materials, fewer inclusions, or additional costs that appear later. Compare the complete scope, material specifications, workmanship, project management, warranty, and final cost before making a decision.
Check the type and thickness of boards, plywood or other materials, laminates or finishes, edgebanding, kitchen and wardrobe hardware, hinges, drawer channels, baskets, handles, and other accessories.
